Personal care is one of the most intimate forms of support and getting it right matters enormously. Our Personal Activities Assistance is built around you: your schedule, your preferences and your routines. We take the time to understand how you like things done and honour that, every time.
We support participants to manage daily personal activities with as much or as little assistance as they need, always focusing on building confidence and independence where possible while providing reliable, dignified hands-on support where required.
Every team member who provides personal activities assistance is trained in respectful, person-centred care delivery. We understand that personal care is the foundation of a participant's day, their dignity and their wellbeing.
What this support can include
Depending on the participant’s needs and NDIS plan, Astara Wellness can support with:
Personal hygiene and grooming
Showering, bathing and toileting support
Dressing and clothing selection
Assistance with getting in and out of bed
Mobility support around the home
Mealtime support and daily routines
Medication prompts where appropriate and within scope
Support to attend appointments or activities
Building confidence with personal routines
Overnight or extended personal care support where agreed

Yes. We work hard to match participants with a support worker who suits their needs, personality and preferences. If the match isn't right, we will work with you to find someone who is.

Yes. We provide support seven days a week including public holidays, in accordance with the schedule agreed in your service agreement. NDIS pricing applies for weekend and public holiday rates.

We review your support arrangements regularly and can adjust the level and type of assistance as your needs evolve. You don't need to wait for a plan review - speak with your Astara Wellness contact and we will adapt your support promptly.

Yes. All staff providing personal activities assistance are trained in safe manual handling techniques appropriate to the participant's needs. Where specialist equipment is involved, additional training is completed.
